Karolyn Lobash, Grade 7-8 Religion

"Isn't it funny how day by day nothing changes, but when you look back everything is different?" - C.S. Lewis

Education - B.A. in East Asian Studies from North Central College in Naperville, IL

Certifications - TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Certificate and 5-12 ELA/English Teacher License from MO, planning to transfer to MA.

Path to SPS - After graduation, I spent six months working at Disney World in Epcot at the International Food and Wine Festival. Covid hit soon after and I spent that year working mainly as a daycamp instructor for a local park district helping my students with their online schooling. As the world began to open back up, I went to Japan and taught English as a second language to 1st through 6th grade in 13 different elementary schools. I stayed in Japan for a year and upon returning to the states I began working at a Catholic K-8 school in Missouri teaching mainly ELA and religion to the middle school where I taught for the past two years. Wanting a change from country life, I decided to come to Boston where I found SPS and I am very excited to work with the SPS students and help them grow in both faith and academics!

Hobbies Outside of School - I enjoy cooking, playing games, volleyball, and exploring places I've never been.

Fun Fact - I grew up with my father working in the Air Force so I moved around a lot. Massachusetts is the ninth state I've called home!
