Early Education: K1 (Pre-K) and K2 (Kindergarten)

At St. Peter’s, our K1 (Pre-K) and K2(Kindergarten) programs provide a nurturing, vibrant, and supportive environment where young learners begin their educational journey. These formative years are designed to ignite a lifelong love of learning in every child. Our curriculum carefully balances teacher-led instruction with ample opportunities for creative play, self-discovery, and exploration, offering a holistic approach to early childhood education.

We emphasize the development of both cognitive and social-emotional skills, laying the foundation for success in elementary school and beyond. Our program is not just about academic growth; it’s about fostering a deep sense of curiosity and wonder about the world. Through hands-on activities and engaging lessons, children explore fundamental concepts in literacy, mathematics, science, and the arts while developing the critical thinking skills needed to approach new challenges with confidence.

A central focus of our early education curriculum is the nurturing of core values such as compassion, kindness, respect, hard work, and concern for others. These values are woven throughout every aspect of the day, from group activities to individual tasks, ensuring that children learn not only academic skills but also how to interact positively with others, contribute to their community, and develop a sense of responsibility and empathy.

Religion classes play an integral role in our program, where the focus is on teaching children about God’s love for them. Through simple, age-appropriate lessons, stories, and prayers, students begin to understand the importance of faith, kindness, and gratitude. The religious education curriculum is designed to create a safe and loving space for children to explore spiritual concepts while feeling supported in their own personal faith journey.

As students grow in K1 and K2, they are encouraged to build the cognitive skills that will serve as a foundation for future learning. This includes developing strong language skills, early math concepts, problem-solving abilities, and fine and gross motor skills. Socially, children are guided to develop meaningful relationships with their peers, learn how to communicate their needs and feelings, and build self-confidence in a positive, inclusive environment.

In every aspect of their day, St. Peter’s Early Education program seeks to cultivate a sense of joy in learning, a deep understanding of themselves and others, and a commitment to becoming thoughtful, compassionate, and responsible individuals.
